Thursday, June 10 - Day Negative 3

Everyone got a great night sleep thanks to the comfort of our cabin, "Linger Longer". If you have ever been to the Black Hills of South Dakota, you know how much there is to see and do. The Dunn's had roughly 12 hours to hit as much of it as we could. You know, kind of like the Clark Griswold "looking" at the Grand Canyon scene in Vacation.

The only difference is our day was in English!!!!!

We did manage to squeeze in Mount Rushmore:

Crazy Horse:

Needles Highway:

A tight squeeze on the Needles Highway:

And The "Wildlife Loop":

We ended the day with a nice family dinner at Legion Lake. After a fresh trout dinner, we called it a day and headed to the cabin. With a 12 hour drive ahead of us to Missoula, Montana tomorrow, we wanted to get to bed early.

Wednesday, June 9 - Day Negative 4

Another day on the road. Again, pretty uneventful. We drove from Minnesota to the Craft's (friends of ours) cabin in Custer State Park, South Dakota. The only excitement was trying to find the cabin in the dark. Not easy while negotiating buffalo walking down the middle of the road. The Crafts have become our unofficial trip planner thus far. They sold us their conversion van....saving us from a miserable trip in our smaller vehicle. The also set us up for 2 nights in their cabin. Thanks for all your help, Roger and Lisa.
